A postdoctoral research opportunity, supported by the NIH Fogarty D43 grant, has arisen in the Division for a period of one year, renewable; subject to satisfactory performance. Hosted by Professor Rhoderick Machekano and Doctor Birhanhu Ayele, the successful candidate will be expected to conduct methodological research in biostatistics primarily focused towards application to infectious diseases such HIV/AIDS and TB. As well as advancing their own research agenda, the successful candidate will be involved with developing modules and teaching Masters’ level biostatistics and other short courses. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is involved in multiple research projects with potential for methodological collaborations.
Applicants for this postdoctoral research fellowship must hold (or have been approved for) a doctoral degree in biostatistics (preferable) or statistics; and must provide proof of this at the time of application. The fellowship will involve in-depth formal tutoring and mentorship in biostatistical methods for use in infectious disease research.
